Awarded By: Project Management Institute (PMI®)
PMP:

A PMP certification candidate, with a four-year college degree, must have at least 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of formal, project management-related education.

A PMP certification candidate, without a four-year degree, must have at least 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of formal, project management-related education.

CAPM:

A CAPM certification candidate needs 1,500 hours of professional experience on a project team, or 23 hours of project management education.

PMI-ACP:

A PMI-ACP certification candidate needs 2,000 hours working on project teams (a current PMP or Program Management Professional (PgMP)® credential holder will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP exam), 1,500 hours working on project teams using agile methodologies, and 21 hours of training in agile practices.

  • 4-hour, 200-question exam for PMP certification
  • 3-hour, 150-question exam for CAPM certification
  • 3-hour, 120-question exam for PMI-ACP certification
